On July 16, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, in Tianjin.

The Ministers reviewed and discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Tajikistan in 2024 and the meeting of the leaders of the two countries in Astana in June 2025, which opened new horizons for further strengthening of the strategic partnership.

Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Wang Yi also touched upon the status and prospects of cooperation on a wide range of issues of bilateral relations.

The foreign ministers of Tajikistan and China exchanged views on cooperation within international and regional organizations, in particular, within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, including preparations for the upcoming summit of the Organization in September this year in the city of Tianjin.
